I loved the first two books (and I'm looking forward to the third) and the film is a great version of the first book. They've only left things that weren't crucial to the main plot and sensibly shifted a few bits to keep the running time reasonable. It also looks great, without becoming an advert for the Swedish Tourist Board. I've not idea, of course, what it would be like to see it without reading the book first. It would be interesting to know whether Jeremy had read the book before reviewing the film.
